SRT import & export
Import SRT
Section titled “Import SRT”Drop an .srt onto the Audio / SRT field on the Transcribe tab, or click Import SRT….
VoxMark turns it into a saved transcript and one marker per subtitle, then opens the Navigate
tab. No API key is needed.
- Plain SRTs from any tool work. Both
,and.before the milliseconds are accepted, and files in UTF-8 (with or without a BOM) or Latin-1 read correctly. - Speaker names at the start of a subtitle become voices. VoxMark recognises
[Name],<Name>andName:— the log says how many voices it found. - Max chars on the Transcribe tab applies: long subtitles are split into shorter captions.
- Clear all existing markers first applies too. With it off, VoxMark replaces only its own markers.
Importing over an existing transcript replaces it — the old one is kept first; see Where VoxMark keeps things.
Frame rate
Section titled “Frame rate”An SRT exported by VoxMark — from Cinema 4D, After Effects or Premiere Pro — carries its frame rate. If it differs from your scene, VoxMark shows both your project and render frame rates and offers to update both to match. Cinema 4D only uses whole frame rates, so 29.97 fps rounds to 30 — the prompt says so. Choose No to keep your scene as it is.
Export SRT
Section titled “Export SRT”Export SRT… writes the saved transcript as a standard subtitle file that works anywhere subtitles do. It suggests a name from your scene’s, and asks where to save it.
- It exports the transcript, not just the markers on the timeline — so a transcript-only run exports too. Where you’ve dragged a marker, its new time is used.
- Voices are written as
[Name]at the start of each subtitle, which is what carries them through to other VoxMark installs. Captions with the unnamed voice, or no voice, have no prefix. - A small VoxMark header at the top records the frame rate, the source (
c4d), the date and the voice names. Other tools ignore it; VoxMark reads it.
Soloed voices export on their own. While voices are soloed in the Navigate tab, the button reads Export SRT (Alice and Bob)…, only their captions are written, and the suggested file name ends with the voice names — handy for one SRT per speaker.
The round trip with After Effects and Premiere Pro
Section titled “The round trip with After Effects and Premiere Pro”VoxMark for Cinema 4D shares its SRT format with VoxMark for After Effects and Premiere Pro. Drop an SRT exported there into Cinema 4D and the markers land on the same times with the same voices. Both use the same voice palette in the same order, so voices normally keep their colours too. It works the other way as well.
